Wahoo Class Mangrove Project Mission Statement

After learning about the local mangrove habitat our class realized that mangroves are highly important but generally misunderstood and not respected by some of the local community.  There has to be balance between living near mangroves and understanding their importance.  We found that many reasons mangroves are cut down are due to lack of understanding.  We knew we had to act!  Educating the public is our top priority!  This website is to help others understand how the mangrove habitat helps our ecosystem and protects our island coastline. We need to learn to live with the mangroves without destroying them.

Sigsbee Charter School is a pretty cool place to learn.  Check out our school website at www.sigsbee.org .
